21 Weeks Old

21 Weeks oh my!!

Carmella is becoming quite the mover lately, although she has not quite rolled over yet she is definitely trying. She loves kicking her feet and especially is enjoying her play gym and jumper. I must admit this is when I get most of my free time and she can usually be entertained for about 40 minutes.

Everything she grabs or gets a hold of goes in her mouth and the drooling has begun! If it is not a toy in her mouth then she is often sucking on her hands or examining them. She has finally figured out that they're her hands and she can control them. It is so cute to watch her study her hands and move an object back and forth between hands.

We have defiantly seen her Italian personality starting to shine through and she will tell you what she dislikes. For example, when she doesn't want her binkie she will tighten her lips so nothing can get past. And she likes to push her bottle away when she is done eating, but only to want it back a few seconds later.

Over to Rose's House

So I headed back to work and I have to admit it wasn't as bad as I had imagined. I mean aside from the part where I left the house crying; other than that I got through the day.

All ready for her first day with Rose

Daddy dropped Carmella off at Rose's house where she gets to play with her cousin Giuliana and a few other kids. It sounds like Carmella is loving the other kids and really working on her conversation skills. According to Rose she has been eating great, sleeping well and just loving the other kids. And that makes her mommy really happy!!

20 Weeks Old

Look who is 20 weeks old!!

Carmella is starting to become really active and her personality is shining through.

Not only does she get a big smile on her face when mom and dad walk into the room but she also has become a little chatter box. What would you expect from our baby, we love to talk and so does she!!

She is spending more and more time awake and really taking in everything around her. 

Oh my has it really been 20 weeks?!

My First Baby Doll

Carmella has really enjoyed her conversations with mommy and daddy but recently she has started talking to her toys too. So I thought it was time for her to have a little friend, a baby doll.

She grabbed the baby and kept squeezing her and squealing in delight.

19 Weeks Old

It's Valentine's Day and someone is 19 weeks old!!

Carmella is becoming more active and alert, she always checking out her surroundings. Her hand and eye coordination has definitely improved and she is reaching to grab objects and even beginning to put those objects in her mouth. But her hands seem to still be her favorite, she always has them in her mouth or she is intently examining them. 

 She is so close to rolling over but I'm not pushing her too hard 

because once she rolls over life as we know it will change.....

(let the pillow barricade begin)

Bath Time

When visiting Grandma LuLu we decided to try out a new bath chair. At first she wasn't too sure about it but after awhile she realized she could really splash her legs in the water.

She even got to take a bath with her cousin Sophia, wow that was fun! Sophia was such a good helper and she was teaching Carmella how to make BIG splashes in the water.

I can see lots more bath time for these two girls in the next few years.

Tahoe Visit

Carmella and I took our first road trip to Tahoe. We went to spend some time with Grandma LuLu and even got to spend some time with Auntie Jenn, Uncle Mike and cousin Sophia.

It was a wonderful long weekend filled with lots of laughs and good times.

Cousin Sophia was such a big girl she even helped feed baby Carmella. 

Looks like someone is going to be a great BIG sister!

So sweet! I am beginning to see a lovely relationship between these two girls.

So excited that the Nielsen family is moving back to Tahoe PERMANENTLY!! 

Yeah that means lots of family get togethers year round!!

18 Weeks Old

18 Weeks Old... oh my!!

Carmella is growing and changing so quickly. This week I have found her in the pack in play peacefully playing with her hands and having her own little conversations with her toys. It just melts my heart.  She is often found with her hands in her mouth or very busy using her eyes and hands in play to learn about herself.

Carmella's personality is shinning through and she is beginning to develop a sense of humor. She giggles and laughs while playing peek a boo and can often be found with a smile.

Happy baby girl at 18 weeks!

4 Months Old

Happy 4 Month Birthday Baby Girl!!

Carmella is growing so fast and such a happy baby girl.
To celebrate her 4 month birthday we went to dinner with the Baker's. It was a great dinner but Carmella didn't last very long and after the food was served she was ready to go home. 

4 month stats:

weight: 13lbs 10oz

height: 24 in

Catching a Kangaroo...

Carmella loves her kangaroo jumper and she can't seem to get enough of it. 

But as she starting jumping one day something caught her eye...

I think she is trying to tell me about the kangaroo on her seat.
